Ashley H. (ashleyhoffenberg) had to say...

Regarding books, I LOVE THEM! (duh)

My favorite generes include Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance. I especially love books in a series because you get to know the characters on a much more intimate level. I'm a huge fan of Asian and African cultures and I love reading fiction books involving Asian Dynasty history.

Some of my favorties include:

  • Twilight Series by Stephenie Myers (and The Host)
  • The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling
  • Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward
  • Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon
  • The Hollows series by Kim Harrison
  • The Shifters series by Rachel Vincent
  • The Southern Vampire Series by Charlaine Harris
  • Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost
  • The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling
  • Empress Orchid by Anchee Min
  • A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah
  • Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
  • Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
  • Merry Gentry series by Laurell K. Hamilton
  • Life of Pi by Yann Martel
  • Summer Sisters by Judy Blume

As far as the rest of me goes, I just started my Masters in Social Work, and my husband started Medical school! We both work very hard at our education. I come from a single-parent home and grew up knowing the meaning of helping others. It has really helped shaped my views in life. I am very international, in focus, and have enjoyed being an anti-genocide advocate for the past 5 years. I think it would be spectacular to be an international social worker. However, I am not sure what comes with that territory, so I am just as happy to help the people here in the states. I am mainly interested in assisting homeless and refugees populations. I also have a strong yearning to work with troubled youth, especially girls. I would love to help build prevention programs. :)

I also love to scrapbook but never have enough time to spend with the craft. Here are my creations: http://picasaweb.google.com/a.hoffenberg/ScrapbookCreations#
